Eyelid problems are very common in patients, particularly also reflecting the aging process that all of us will go through. There are a number of different eyelid problems that manifest and may require treatment.

These include,

1. Ptosis (droopy eyelids)

2. Dermatochalasis (excess skin on the upper eyelids or lower eyelids causing the appearance of puffiness or heaviness in the eyelids)

3. Ectropion (the eyelid turning out causing symptoms of soreness and watering)

4. Entropion (where there eyelid turns in causing symptoms of irritation where the eyelashes rub against the eyeball itself)

5. Eyelid tumours (a number of eyelids tumours can grow around the eye). These can either be benign or malignant and will need to be treated on its own merits depending on the type of tumour and its size.
